Very cute cozy style mystery shenanigans。 Readers of Janet evanovich will like this one。

3。5I really enjoyed this book it was really funny and cute。 I just wished the romance was more on the forefront。 It was more in the background, which was probably the reason why I did not really feel the connection between the two。 All in all this was a fun and easy read, with some laugh out loud moments。(view spoiler)[ the gunpoint Situation was a pit to much, because they all forgive and forget so fast。 Plus let’s not forget that she wanted to frame medie for theft。 (hide spoiler)] 3。5I really enjoyed this book it was really funny and cute。 I just wished the romance was more on the forefront。 It was more in the background, which was probably the reason why I did not really feel the connection between the two。 All in all this was a fun and easy read, with some laugh out loud moments。(view spoiler)[ the gunpoint Situation was a pit to much, because they all forgive and forget so fast。 Plus let’s not forget that she wanted to frame medie for theft。 (hide spoiler)] 。。。more

I read this laugh-out-loud, slap-stick adventure with an Indonesian-Chinese family in two days。 It's not great literature, but it's clever, creative, charming and funny like I haven't experiences for a while。 I'll leave the unreeling of the story line to others, but for me it was a hilarious welcome reading experience。 Recommended。 I read this laugh-out-loud, slap-stick adventure with an Indonesian-Chinese family in two days。 It's not great literature, but it's clever, creative, charming and funny like I haven't experiences for a while。 I'll leave the unreeling of the story line to others, but for me it was a hilarious welcome reading experience。 Recommended。 。。。more

Family drama with Meddie, her ma and the aunties over a dead body。 Very original, clever writing that is too funny。Sequel in the works as well as a Netflix production。

This book is hysterical。 Meddy works as a photographer for her family's wedding business。 The night before an important wedding, she ends up on a blind date。 When her date tries to assault her, she accidentally kills him。 Panicking, she goes home, where her mother and three aunts help her hide the body。 Unfortunately, the body ends up going to the wedding venue。Does the premise make you want to read it?

This book was so fun to read。 One of the funniest books I have ever read。 This one is not a thriller yet it is about an accidental murder that will keep you constantly wondering what is going to happen next。 So many twists and turns! Just when you think it has gotten chaotic and crazy enough, another surprise is thrown in to make your heart race a little because of the mess the aunties continue to make。

Very silly, very fun lark of a book。 I loved reading about the characters in this Chinese-Indonesian family。 Lots of laughs and slapstick—thin plot—a perfect beach read。 I expect to watch a movie made from this story any day!

This book is just silly。 It reads like it is made to be a TV movie - half rom/com, half Weekend at Bernie's。 First, it requires a huge suspension of disbelief and second, as it says in the inside cover of the book, Medellin accidentally kills her blind date - she kills a man and there are no repercussions or consequences。 It might be different if he accidentally died, but his death is 100% a consequence of her actions (at the beginning of the book - not a spoiler) and I just can't get past the f This book is just silly。 It reads like it is made to be a TV movie - half rom/com, half Weekend at Bernie's。 First, it requires a huge suspension of disbelief and second, as it says in the inside cover of the book, Medellin accidentally kills her blind date - she kills a man and there are no repercussions or consequences。 It might be different if he accidentally died, but his death is 100% a consequence of her actions (at the beginning of the book - not a spoiler) and I just can't get past the fact that no one seems to feel much remorse about that or feels the need to bear any responsibility。 。。。more

3。5 for the story。 I think this is the first time I've read a light, "fun", murder mystery, romance book with a Chinese-Indonesian background。 This is the first time reading a book where I'm nodding my head and laughing out loud because I relate to it so much, because it is something that I've experienced myself as a "Chindo"。 I guess this is why representation matters, to see yourself on a book which is read internationally and at such a mainstream media, well I can't help but to feel proud。For 3。5 for the story。 I think this is the first time I've read a light, "fun", murder mystery, romance book with a Chinese-Indonesian background。 This is the first time reading a book where I'm nodding my head and laughing out loud because I relate to it so much, because it is something that I've experienced myself as a "Chindo"。 I guess this is why representation matters, to see yourself on a book which is read internationally and at such a mainstream media, well I can't help but to feel proud。For the story itself, some parts feel a little bit extra and too much。 But I guess the whole book and its characters are extra and over the top。 I won't say it's the best book out there, but it's certainly entertaining。 The whole murder thing seems to be treated a little to lightly, even though the story revolves around this murder, I feel like at times it is dismissed which is actually rather disturbing 😅。 。。。more

This is a rom-com meets murder mystery meets。。。I don't know what。 This book is a lot of fun, but if you aren't the sort to be able to suspend doubt, it won't work for you。 However, if you want an unrealistic romp involving a body in a freezer at a wedding, this is your jam。 I enjoyed it, even if so much of it seemed unbelievable。 This is a rom-com meets murder mystery meets。。。I don't know what。 This book is a lot of fun, but if you aren't the sort to be able to suspend doubt, it won't work for you。 However, if you want an unrealistic romp involving a body in a freezer at a wedding, this is your jam。 I enjoyed it, even if so much of it seemed unbelievable。 。。。more

4。5 starsLoved this! Side-splitting and uproariously funny, had me giggling and laughing out loud for the majority of the book。 Gosh, my cheeks were aching by the end of it。It's definitely my favorite flavor of chick-lit, very reminiscent of Sophie Kinsella at her best。 Side-splitting and hilarious situations plus a heart-fluttering, sweet romance that is not overbearing in the least, but instead takes a backseat to the main storyline。Oh, and can we please talk about the aunties? Hilarious, cute, mysterious and full of funny and unbelievable twists。 I had heard of this books many months ago and I knew it would be amazing, it was even better than that。 I did not see any of the twists coming, it was so well done。Also, I listened to the audiobook and the performance was absolutely amazing。 Definitely recommend this book if you are looking for a funny and cute book。

I loved this one!! It was a lot better than I expected。 Meddy and her Aunties end up in a sticky situation that honestly seems so strange in the synopsis but somehow totally works! The novel is all about trying to cover an accidental murder but the way this book is written is not only funny but it’s just cooky, a bit silly, a little suspenseful, but also just really enjoyable。 I was really rootin’ for these characters the whole time。 I can’t wait for the sequel and I think this is the perfect bo I loved this one!!
